Big B Makes His First Overseas Investment Of Around $71 Mn
The Bachchan family has picked up stake in Singapore-based Meridian Tech Pte. Ltd.
Amitabh Bachchan and his family have acquired a minority stake in a Singapore-based firm Meridian Tech Pte. Ltd., which is founded by Venkata Srinivas Meenavalli. They have invested in Ziddu.com, a cloud-based content distribution platform at a valuation of approximately $71 million.
This marks Big B’s first overseas investment.
Even back in 2013, the superstar had reportedly made a whopping 4600 percent windfall gain with his 10 percent stake in Just Dial.
In the past, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Ranbir Kapoor have also built their investment portfolios. While SRK invested in Kidzania, Salman owned a stake in Yatra.com and RK Jr picked up a 49% stake in Tods Retail India Private Ltd.
